This fabulous book is what I will be reading to a group of 5th Graders for Read Across America Day. I think I will have some extra time and I want to build in a quick activity. I’m thinking an activity like a Kahoot or a stop, question and draw or ????
This false summer weather in February was much appreciated! It was over 81 degrees at the beach. But, how am I suppose to teach in a classroom tomorrow?!🤣 🏖
I have little time- I can’t unwind everyday. The educator stress is real. So, the little things are needed when I can get it. ⏰

When the kids love to play the game that helps reinforce the concept they “were” struggling to understand. 🥰 This game is focused on syllables. It helps the kids break down words into 1, 2, or 3 parts. Our students have some gaps in their learning that occurred during Covid. Now, we are working to find the gaps and target 🎯 instruction to fill those gaps and allow them to make leaps on their reading in journey. 😬My second grade students are having trouble with parts of phonological awareness- specifically syllables. Daily guided practice is essential but not enough. Students also need to practice their skills in a engaging and low stress manner. This also allows for us teachers to asses what they are able to do on their own and where they go wrong for focused correction. Small group games are a great way to make that happen. Check out my 4 Phonological Awareness Syllables Games. The link is above 👆. #learninggamesforkids #phonologicalawareness #firstgrade #secondgrade #englishlearners #readingintervention
Teachers get sick- like sinus infection sick- like me now and the many education professionals who have various illnesses. We need time to heal so we can move forward. We also need those relationships that help us calm and center … in this case my healing buddy is my 🐕 and he is napping 😴…hmm seems like a good idea. ⏰Take time and get healthy so you can go back to classroom and share your teacher magic 🪄 with your students. You are necessary, you are awesome, you are important and you need to be healthy to be the best you for you, your family and your students.
